1) The Corps initially discussed the date change with the Project Sponsor on February 25, 2020 and the Project Sponsor indicated in writing they do not object to the proposed extension.
The dates for the milestones are driven by and coordinated with the Environmental Permitting/EIS component of the Mid-Barataria Program Schedule. The consultation trigger for both ESA and EFH consultation is the release of the Draft EIS. The Permitting/EIS schedule was pushed back by several months by consensus of the project applicant and the La TIG, resulting in the revised dates reported here. The drivers of the delay are numerous issues related to fully understanding the beneficial and adverse impacts to aquatic resources and socioeconomics.
Unexpected employee emergency necessitated staff and workload adjustments that resulted in 1 week delay in delivery of the BO. FWS field and HQ staff coordinated with the applicant and FERC., and there were no concerns from either the applicant or FERC. The delay did not affect other action or Milestones. The schedule change was coordinated through our Deputy CERPO.
I do not know what, if any, adjustments were made to the CPP.
