Geothermal Drilling Permit GDP

Geothermal drilling permit means BLM written permission to drill for and test Federal geothermal resources. Belore a geothermal drilling permit can be approved, an operations plan must undergo NEPA review. Once approved, then geothermal drilling permit application(s) can be approved.

Floodplain Assessment

Floodplains are defined in Sec. 6(c) of Executive Order 11988 as lowland and relatively flat areas adjoining inland and coastal waters, including flood-prone areas of offshore islands. Federal agencies are required to engage in floodplain reviews before acquiring, managing, and disposing federal lands, and facilities; providing federally undertaken, financed, or assisted construction and improvements; and conducting federal activities and programs affecting land use, including but not limited to water and related land resources planning, regulating, and licensing activities.

Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act Review NOAA

The amendments enacted in 1946 require Federal agencies to consult with the Fish and Wildlife Service, NOAA Fisheries, and the fish and wildlife agencies of States where the "waters of any stream or other body of water are proposed or authorized, permitted or licensed to be impounded, diverted . . . or otherwise controlled or modified" by any agency under a Federal permit or license.

Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act Review DOI FWS

The amendments enacted in 1946 require consultation with the Fish and Wildlife Service and the fish and wildlife agencies of States where the "waters of any stream or other body of water are proposed or authorized, permitted or licensed to be impounded, diverted . . . or otherwise controlled or modified" by any agency under a Federal permit or license. Consultation is to be undertaken for the purpose of "preventing loss of and damage to wildlife resources" and ensure fish and wildlife resources receive equal consideration with other project purposed.

Endangered Species Act Consultation NOAA NMFS

Under Section 7(a)(2) of the ESA, all Federal agencies must consult with NMFS and/or the USFWS when an action the agency carries out, funds, or authorizes may affect a species listed as endangered or threatened and/or has the potential to destroy, or adversely modify, designated critical habitat. The purpose of the consultation is to assist the action agency in meeting its duty to insure that its action is not likely to jeopardize the continued existence of any listed species or result in the destruction or adverse modification of designated critical habitat.

Easement Administrative Action USDA NRCS

Project lands may be held under easements through NRCS programs and identified such that any potential impacts may be mitigated during the Environmental Analysis. The Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP) helps landowners, land trusts, and other entities protect, restore, and enhance wetlands, grasslands, and working farms and ranches through conservation easements.

DOD Mission Compatibility Evaluation Process Part 211 of Title 32 CFR

The Clearinghouse shall coordinate Department of Defense review of applications for energy projects or antenna structure projects filed with the Secretary of Transportation pursuant to section 44718 of title 49 and received by the Department of Defense from the Secretary of Transportation. In performing such coordination, the Clearinghouse shall provide procedures to ensure affected local military installations are consulted.

The more information provided by the requester, the greater the accuracy and reliability of the resulting DoD review.  The Clearinghouse will coordinate with all relevant DoD Components.
