A lessee/operator proposing to apply for approval of drilling operations and well pad construction must submit geothermal drilling permit application(s) (Standard Form 3260-2) along with an operations plan, a complete drilling program, and an acceptable bond, 43 CFR 3261.11.
Description

Geothermal drilling permit means BLM written permission to drill for and test Federal geothermal resources. Belore a geothermal drilling permit can be approved, an operations plan must undergo NEPA review. Once approved, then geothermal drilling permit application(s) can be approved.
