East Side Coastal Resiliency EIS Wins NAEP Environmental Excellence Award

At the 2021 National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP) Conference & Training Symposium, FAST-41 project East Side Coastal Resiliency EIS, was awarded the NAEP Environmental Excellence Award in the NEPA Planning Integration category. Eric Ilijevich, deputy director for the New York City Department of Design and Construction, accepted the award and shared highlights on the project. The unprecedented coastal resiliency project for New York City will play a vital role in reducing coastal flooding—while improving access to—and enhancing waterfront open spaces.

The New York City Department of Design and Construction worked with the Permitting Council to lead a coordinated effort with federal (HUD, USDOC, NOAA, USACE) and state partners to deliver a timely and coordinated permitting process for the FAST-41 project.
