Description:
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 8 proposes to restore
and extend the life of the existing pavement on U.S. Interstate 10 (I-10) from Caltrans
post mile (PM) 134.00 to 156.50 within the city of Blythe and unincorporated portions
of Riverside County (Project). The Scope of the work includes; removal of existing
mainline AC pavement, removal of existing inside and outside shoulders, removal and
replacement of existing drainage inlets, all dikes, and over-side drains; removal and
replacement of all rumble strips, removal of guardrails and installation of Midwest
Guardrail System (MGS) with vegetation control; mill and overlay of all on and off
ramps with HMA- including those at the Wiley’s Well Rest Area; construction of CRCP
or JPCP and the associated base for traveled-way and all shoulders, including outside
shoulder backing on both roadbeds; widening of existing bridges, regrading of the
median and areas between the shoulders and the Caltrans ROW; construction of a
10-foot lane (cross-over lane) in the inside shoulder for traffic control; restriping,
construct reinforced concrete slope paving on all structures; and upgrading of the
existing ADA facilities at ramp termini.
