ESA Consultation Request Package Submitted (Agency Action)
  • Monthly Status Report for September 2025:
    In mid-March 2025, the BLM and FWS determined that a Biological Assessment needs to include Monarch Butterfly, Yuma Ridgway Rail, and CA Black Rail species prior to submission to FWS for review.  Based on recommended survey protocols, the BA is planned to be completed by 2/13/2026. BLM continues to work with FWS to complete the BA.

    In mid-March 2025, the BLM and FWS determined that a Biological Assessment needs to include Monarch Butterfly, Yuma Ridgway Rail, and CA Black Rail species prior to submission to FWS for review.  Based on recommended survey protocols, the BA is planned to be completed by 2/13/2026.

    In mid-March 2025, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), in coordination with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), determined that a complete Biological Assessment that included completed threatened and endangered species surveys for the Monarch Butterfly, Yuma Ridgway Rail, and CA Black Rail species was needed before the package could be submitted for FWS review. Based on recommended survey protocols, the BA is planned to be completed by 2/13/2026.
