The Washington D.C. to Baltimore Loop Project is a project wholly funded by The Boring Company, where the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is the project sponsor, in coordination with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) acting as the lead Federal agency. The project consists of the construction of a set of parallel, twin underground tunnels through which will run automated electric vehicles. The proposed twin tunnels will run in parallel for approximately 35.3 miles beneath public right-of-way from Washington, D.C. to Baltimore, Maryland.
