Description:
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA), in coordination with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is studying transportation improvements along I-495 from south of the American Legion Bridge to MD 5, and along I-270 from I-495 to I-370, including the east and west I-270 Spurs, in Montgomery and Prince Georges Counties, Maryland, and Fairfax County, Virginia. The study will evaluate alternatives to accommodate existing and future traffic, improve trip reliability, expand travel options, accommodate homeland security, and improve the movement of goods and services.
