Description:
The Service will consult with the Corps concerning the possible effects of the proposed project on nesting sea turtles (5 species), piping plovers, red knots, crocodiles, loggerhead sea turtle critical habitat units LOGG-T-FL-16, LOGG-T-FL-15, and crocodile critical habitat.
As of 8/31/2020, the FWS has all of the information needed for formal ESA consultation and intends to provide the Corps with a biological opinion by March 1, 2021. The FWS and the Corps agree to extend the time for formal consultation beyond the standard 135 days, as allowed under the regulations.
