Description:

Federal agencies are required to consult with the Secretary of Commerce with respect to any action authorized, funded, or undertaken, or proposed to be authorized, funded, or undertaken, by such agency that may adversely affect essential fish habitat identified under the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act (MSFCMA). An EFH consultation allows NOAA Fisheries to coordinate directly with BOEM to conserve and enhance fish habitats.
