The initial USACE public notice for the Section 404 Clean Water Act, Section 10 Rivers and Harbors Act, and Section 103 Marine, Protection, Research and Sanctuaries Act permit application was issued on August 1, 2019. The public comment period on the initial public notice closed on August 30, 2019. To obtain public input at the beginning of the environmental impact statement (EIS) development process, the Corps held a series of virtual public scoping meetings on June 9, 11, 16, and 18, 2020. USACE Galveston District held an in-person public meeting on the draft EIS on June 22, 2022, from 3:00pm to 7:30pm at the Ortiz Center, 402 Harbor Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78401. The public meetings provided information about the proposed action and allowed USACE to receive public input and comment on the draft EIS. The draft EIS is available on the Galveston District’s website at the link given above. Comments received during the comment period will be considered by the Corps to assist in determining whether to issue, modify, condition, or deny a permit for the proposed Action.
