Description:

This project is posted in the interest of transparency and response to Executive Order 14241.

The project sponsor has proposed the Copper Creek exploration project which includes exploration drilling activities within the Copper Creek Mining District (also referred to as the Bunker Hill Mining District), within Pinal County, Arizona. The drilling activity consists of 67 drill pads within less than 200 acres. Existing roads and infrastructure will be utilized for the exploration activities. The drill pads and roads encompass approximately 18 acres, which includes six (6) acres for 67 drill pad sites and 12 acres for associated access roads. A total of 14 acres of which will be reclaimed before the Project is completed. The remaining four (4) acres consist of road widening disturbance (from 8 to 12 feet wide) and would not be reclaimed following completion of work. The Project Area is adjacent on all sides to undeveloped land that includes lands owned or managed by the BLM; private parties, including applicant's patented claims, and the Arizona State Land Department.

The Project would occur within the Copper Creek Mining District (also referred to as the Bunker Hill Mining District), where mineral exploration and extraction has previously occurred. The Project will specifically use existing access roads and pads that were previously constructed for mineral exploration activities, with many of the access roads currently in use. The Project Sponsor proposed to conduct exploration activities that will cause some surface disturbance of this previously disturbed area, with some minor expansion in specific areas, primarily to allow safe access. This disturbance will allow for further data collection to assess mineral development potential within the Project Area.
