Description:

The Burnt Rock Exploration Project is a 10-year mineral exploration for gold and silver in the Aurora mining district of west-central Nevada. The project is located approximately 23 miles west-southwest of Hawthorne, Nevada, on lands administered by the USDA Forest Service, Bridgeport Ranger District. The project proposes new construction of up to 28 miles of temporary access road, up to 266 drill sites, and up to 4 laydown yards to allow for drilling activities with reclamation of all proposed disturbances. The initial phase of the proposed project would include up to 118 acres of new disturbance with 2.9 acres of existing authorized disturbance for a total disturbance of approximately 121 acres. The applicant would submit future work plans based on initial-phase drilling results for up to an additional 129 acres with the total project disturbance not to exceed 250 acres.
