Description:

Smith Blythe, LLC proposes to construct and operate an up to 450-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) power generating facility with an up to 300-MW battery energy storage system (BESS).  The Project is currently sited on approximately 3,305 acres of federal public land managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Riverside County, California.  The Project will interconnect to the grid via a 1.5-mile 34.5 kilovolt (kV) collection line that will be stepped up to 230 kV into the Project substation.  Then, the Project will interconnect via 1-span 230 kV Gen-tie into the Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Colorado River Substation.
