Description:

The project would extend University Boulevard from Devlin Road to Wellington Road for approximately 2.5 miles and would be four lanes wide. At the north end of the project, the existing portion of University Boulevard would be widened from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane, divided one (from approximately 650 feet south of the existing intersection of Wellington Road and University Boulevard to the southern entrance to Gainesville High School on University Boulevard). The new four-lane divided section would be built south from the southern entrance to Gainesville High School to the existing three-legged intersection of Devlin Road and University Boulevard, with intersection improvements as needed to accommodate the extension. The project would also include a 5-foot sidewalk on the west/south side of the roadway and a 10-foot shared use path on the east/north side. Additionally, turn lanes would be provided at specific locations, in coordination with existing and planned adjacent developments.
