Description:
California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to replace the bridge at Paradise Cut in San Joaquin County. The proposed project would require full bridge replacement and construction of a work trestle on each side of the bridge. A construction easement of 80 feet will be needed throughout the
course of construction spanning two to three construction seasons between June 1 and October 15 each year. When completed, the new structure would be about 10 feet wider and 18 feet longer than the existing bridge. Construction would be staged; traffic could move on half the bridge deck as the rest is rebuilt. The new structure would be on piers supported by 36-inch-diameter driven piles.
