Description:

This project is located along State Route 18 (SR-18) in San Bernardino County (SBd), from 0.1 mile east of the Route 138/18 Separation at Post Mile (PM) R17.8, to View Drive at PM 31.7. The project scope includes the following: 1) 0.2' mill and overlay pavement. 2) Localized digouts where needed. 3) Replace 14 drainage culverts (PM 19.80, 20.09, 21.14, 22.93, 25.72, 25.74, 26.88, 28.76, 29.45, 30.40, 30.55, 30.64, 30.74, 31.34). 4) Repair slope at 3 locations (PM 18.50, 25.50, 26.49). 5) Replace existing pavement by excavation at 2 locations (PM 18.50, 26.49). 6) Upgrade existing metal beam guardrail to Midwest Guardrail System (MGS). (Locations of replacement are indicated on the layouts). 7) Upgrade Transportation Management Systems (TMS) including two Extinguishable Message Signs (EMS) (PM 20.52, 20.67). 8) Implement Class III bike route from PM 22.958 to PM 31.65 including signage, pavement markings, and bicycle friendly grates. The Class III bike route will not require additional right of way or road expansion.
