Description:
The SR 0022, Section 075 (Riverlands Safety Study Implementation) project proposes to replace the existing center turn lane with a continuous median barrier from the Clarks Ferry bridge to the recently extended median barrier at the newly constructed Rutter’s convenience store near the US 11/15 interchange. Improvements would also include robust signing, pavement marking and lighting for a westbound frontage lane that would serve local traffic right turning movements and improvements to the US 11/15 interchange that would improve Ramp B (US 11/15 Southbound to US 22/322 Eastbound) and Ramp D (US 11/15 Northbound to US 22/322 Eastbound) to meet current design criteria for acceleration lane lengths. Improvements are also planned at the US 22/322/PA 147 interchange including the construction of a dedicated northbound PA 147 left turn lane to facilitate left turns from PA 147 to the US 22/322 Westbound on-ramp.
The SR 0022, Section 059 (Clarks Ferry Bridge Rehabilitation) project consists of a bridge preservation on US 22/322 over the Susquehanna River in Reed Township, Dauphin County. The project includes six separate structures, consisting of both a prestressed and steel superstructure section for EB and WB traffic and two steel superstructure ramp bridges.
The preservation activities would include deck rehabilitation and overlay, replacing the existing armored compression seals, repairing prestressed beam ends and spalled diaphragms, pier cap rehabilitation, clear and repaint bearing under joints, and replacing tooth expansion dam and down spouting.
