Description:
The County of Maui, Department of Public Works proposes a 4,900-foot extension of Liloa Drive from the vicinity of East Waipu‘ilani Road to the vicinity of Ka‘ono‘ulu Street. The proposed roadway improvements will include curb, gutter, sidewalk, curb ramps, bridge crossings at existing drainageways, a shared use path for both pedestrians and bicyclists, signage and striping, utility adjustments and relocations, and landscaping. While the project will primarily occur within the existing road right-of-way (ROW) that has long been planned for the Liloa Drive Extension project, construction will require temporary rights-of-entry (ROE) or temporary construction easements from some landowners immediately abutting the corridor to facilitate construction of the project. In addition, a limited number of permanent easements and acquisitions will be required.
