Description:

The Pen Camden Connector (PCC) project is located in southwest Baltimore, extending
from the Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC) Penn Line, which operates on Amtrak’s Northeast
Corridor (NEC), to the MARC Camden Line, which operates on the CSX Transportation, Inc. (CSXT) owned
Capital Subdivision. PCC consists of re-constructing a rail connection between the MARC Penn and Camden
Lines, as well as improvements to the Mount Clare Yard. By restoring the historic rail connection between
the Penn and Camden Lines, the project will support several planned improvements including the ongoing
redevelopment at Baltimore’s Penn Station and Amtrak’s planned expansions for intercity service.
Additionally, the connection would reduce rail congestion and improve operations at existing MARC
stations in the Baltimore region.
