Description:
The purpose of this project is to restore the facility to a state of good repair by rehabilitating the roadway, reducing maintenance expenditures by the Department, and providing safe conditions for Field Maintenance by reducing excessive exposure to moving traffic. The project is needed because the projected pavement condition, according to the 2019 APCS data, ready to list year 2027, shows the condition of the pavement within the proposed project limits, in need of minor rehabilitation. Not promptly implementing maintenance strategies reduces the design life and level of service resulting in increasing costs to maintain and challenges for field maintenance staff to repair SR 49 in a condition that is adequate for the traveling public.
