Description:

The Mid-States Corridor Section 2 project proposes to construct a new roadway facility located on the east side of the cities of Huntingburg and Jasper in Dubois County, Indiana from I-64 at Dale to SR 56 at Haysville. The project is part of a Tiered National Environment Policy Act (NEPA) process. The Tier 1 Record of Decision (ROD) for the Mid-States Corridor project was published September 15, 2023 and selected the corridor for the Tier 2 NEPA studies. Four Sections of Independent Utility (SIU) for Tier 2 NEPA studies were identified. SIU 2 (Section 2), which extends from I-64 at Dale to SR 56 at Haysville, is the focus of this project. The primary purposes of the project are to (1) Improve regional connectivity in Dubois County and Southern Indiana; (2) Improve highway connections to existing multimodal locations from Southern Indiana; and (3) Complete Section 2 of the Mid-States Corridor Project between I-64 at Dale and SR 56 at Haysville.
