Description:

The project proposes to replace the Salmon Creek Bridge (No. 10-0134) with a new bridge. Four new alignments are currently under consideration, two to the west of the existing bridge (Alts 1 and 3) and two to the east (Alts 2 and 4). Each alignment has multiple design options as well, see attached APS for description of each alternative and structure details. The new approaches to the bridge would require cut/fill and possibly retaining walls (at the abutments and/or along the east side of the road north of the bridge for Alts 2 and 4). There will likely be excess material, so a disposal site may be required. Access roads to the new and existing piers and abutments would be required. Spring Grove Road will be used to access the north side and the access road southeast of the bridge will be used for access to the south side (existing access road will be reconstructed during 40141 and will remain in place for the bridge project). Other access points may be required depending on the alternative. Culverts on the north and south sides of the bridge will be removed and new culverts installed in locations to be determined. Treatment BMPs are expected to be required, locations to be determined, but will likely be incorporated into roadside ditches
