Description:

Widen the existing edge of pavement to accommodate 8-foot shoulders on either side of State Route 14 from postmiles 46.2 to 58.3, establish clear recovery zones by grading side slopes at a six to one ratio, upgrade bridge rails on the Freeman Gulch bridge, add rumble strips, make drainage improvements, and relocate overhead utility lines. From post mile 52.8 to post mile 58.3 a Capital Preventative Maintenance (CAPM) Strategy will be used to repair and restore the mainline. From post mile 58.3 to post mile 58.4 a CAPM Strategy will be used to repair and restore the mainline and the shoulders and from post mile 58.4 to post mile 58.6 a CAPM Strategy will be used to repair and restore the mainline and the shoulders on the southbound side only. All work will occur within the existing Caltrans right of way.
