Description:

The FM 565 project would extend 2.91 miles from SH 99 to SH 146. The project would reconstruct and widen the exsting FM 565 from SH 99 to just west of the UPRR crossing. Connections would be provided between the FM 565 frontage road and newly widened FM 565 at two separate locations between Ameriport Parkway and the UPRR. A new grade separation would be constructed at the UPRR, with FM 565 traveling over the railroad. Immediately west of this intersection, FM 565 would join the existing alignment of FM 1405, which would be re-designated as FM 565 from this point to SH 146. The existing alignment of FM 565 west of the UPRR intersection to SH 146 would not undergo modifications as part of the proposed project. Access to the industrial complex immediately east of the UPRR would be maintained using the existing FM 565 pavement. A new intersection of the re-designated FM 565 with FM 1405 would be constructed approximately 0.5 miles east of SH 146. From here, an approximately 0.5-mile-long extension of FM 1405 would travel along new location to join the existing FM 1405 to travel south. The proposed project would require the acquisition of approximately 15.5 acres of new ROW
