Description:
The project proposes to rehabilitate the existing pavement within the project limits. The project also proposes to improve traffic operations at serval intersections in order to accommodate Surface Transportation Assistance Act (STAA) truck turns and provide right and left tum lanes at two other intersections. The shoulder is proposed to be widened to five feet. Additionally, three bridges within the project limits will be widened to a 40-foot clear width and one bridge will be replaced. The roadway profile will be raised as it approach the California Aqueduct Bridge in the southbound direction to improve stopping sight distance over the Crest Vertical Curve. Approximately 60 new parcels are required for this project and relocation of 51 utility poles.
