Description:
The project will realign 33rd avenue and Adams St in Northern Lincoln, and will also add capacity and reconstruct Highway 6 within the study. The intent of the project is to remove vehicle conflicts with the railroad line running through the study area, including the currently at-grade crossings of the highway at 33rd Ave, Adams Street, and 2 other crossings. There was a PEL study prior, and at one point the project was likely to be an EIS until the project proponent (Railroad Safety District) eliminated their preferred alternative, which was controversial (removed several businesses, 23 low-income housing units, historic properties etc).
