A Section 106 Tribal Consultation letter was received from the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe on March 4, 2026, requesting additional documentation, consideration, and avoidance measures for a potential cultural landscape. The time necessary to accommodate that request and provide an updated report for a final 30-day review has exceeded the currently scheduled completion date of the final decision document (FANEC). Updating the date for the FANEC has a cascading effect on subsequent milestones. This milestone date change is therefore extending out the date for BLM's final decision on an APD by an additional two weeks. , basic_html

Just to follow up on what was discussed today:   Currently, Sponsor submits package on December 15 (or earlier, if possible). If no deficiencies on the package (BLM and USFS), accept on December 22. If deficient, issue letters of deficiency on December 22. If resubmittal is needed, Sponsor to submit revisions by January 7. If resubmittal is needed, Final determination by January 14 (assuming no additional deficiencies) .   The dashboard milestones for the 3 actions (Special Use Permit, Surface Use Plan [USFS], and Surface Use Plan [BLM]) will be changed to Jan 14.
