For the effective administration of public lands, the BLM needs to extend the release of the Notice of Availability of the Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) publication in the Federal Register to December 7, 2027. The Draft EIS identified indirect, direct, and cumulative impacts that necessitated communication with cooperating agencies, additional time is needed to further refine and reinforce the design features. In addition to preparing the Final EIS and Record of Decision, the BLM needs the appropriate amount of time to get this critical infrastructure project to completion.   The revised schedule extends the BLM’s target dates for issuance of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) document, Section 106 consultation with the Nevada State Historic Preservation Office and Tribes, and the Right-of-Way authorization by approximately 30 months.
